and introduce the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals
Services
The ad astra vita project is philanthropic and not-for-profit in nature, and even though we are a small enterprise at present, we have a large vision and big goals we aim to work towards. As part of this, we have the aim of attracting sponsorship and raising funds so that we are able to offer space sector STEAM capacity-building opportunities such as student conference scholarships and internships. As one potential revenue raising stream, the project is able to offer consultancy and facilitation services with coverage of space medicine, space health and other space life sciences, including:
- Informal and formal education sessions to suit your needs;
- Small group facilitation;
- Public speaking and outreach;
- Policy and guideline development;
- Research, writing and editing;
- Project design and management;
- Human resourcing utilising members of the Team;
- Mentoring for students; and
- Other services by negotiation.
Membership of the Consultancy Team
Membership of the consultancy team will be built up on an entirely voluntary basis. We are seeking individuals (at any career stage) who have a passionate interest in human health in the space environment, and are willing to bring their drive and enthusiasm to help build up the capacity and depth within the ad astra vita project team, and to help the project attain its goals and objectives.
As this will be a ‘virtual consultancy’ to begin with, there will not be any cost, obligation or liability accruing to people who are interested in participating. It will only involve providing an “expression of interest” consisting of a short biography/description of interests/experience (see below for the suggested template) and a photograph.
Terms of engagement and remuneration
The ad astra vita project will initially act as a not-for-profit “clearing house” to match consultancy opportunities with individuals (or their small businesses). There will be complete flexibility with regard to the “rules of engagement” for any consultancy work opportunities, and individuals participating in the consultancy will have the freedom to accept engagements on a freelance, contract, permanent, or other basis.
An individually tailored business/remuneration model will be developed for any consultancy opportunities which arise. Any consultancy team members with an ABN will normally be able to contract directly.
At all times, team members will have the option of carrying out the engagement for their sole financial benefit, deciding to donate part of the proceeds to the ad astra vita project scholarship fund, or offering to undertake an engagement wholly on behalf of the ad astra vita project. We hope that the ‘clearing house’ approach will have the capacity both to assist individuals to boost their careers in the sector, and to further the aims and objectives of the ad astra vita project.

“The Earth is the only world known so far to harbor life. There is nowhere else, at least in the near future, to which our species could migrate. Visit, yes. Settle, not yet. Like it or not, for the moment the Earth is where we make our stand.”
